The Calton is Merlin’s first riding glove to achieve CE Level 2 certification. Designed for three-season use, this extended-length glove is available in classic black or brown. Inside, the Calton features a waterproof and breathable Hipora® membrane, along with dual thermal layers — a heavier insulation across the back of the hand for warmth and a lighter layer at the palm to preserve grip and control.

2. Abrasion Resistance - How long the material resists wear on abrasive paper (Cambridge abrasion machine). ≥ 8.0 seconds (for palm material)
3. Cut Resistance - Blade resistance (Coup test). ≥ 25 cycles (without penetration)
4. Seam Strength - Tensile strength of glove seams. ≥ 10 N/mm
5. Tear Strength - Resistance of glove materials to tearing. ≥ 50 N
6. Restraint System Test - Checks that gloves stay on during an accident (retention strap effectiveness). Must remain secure; no significant displacement.
7. Ergonomic and Fit Tests - Ensures gloves allow for adequate control, flexibility, and donning/removal. Must pass practical assessment.
